To use AVG's rescue disks:

Insert disk 1 into floppy drive bay.

Switch on computer.

When prompted remove disk 1 and insert disk 2.

Press Enter

Select on the menu and press:

Test and Clean

This may take a long time depending on the size of your hard drive.

If any viruses are found highlight them in the menu with:

Select All

Then in the menu press:

Clean Selected Viruses

Again this may take a long time.

When the menu reappears again press:

Select All

In the menu press:

Delete Selected Viruses

Finally when this lenghty process is over and all viruses are cleaned press:

Quit

Remove floppy disk and press:

OK

Your system will reboot.

NB. If AVG cannot clean an infected file when the "Starting Windows 9x" message appears on your screen press:

F8

Select:

Command prompt only

Change to the directory of the infected file with:

cd directory

Delete the infected file with:

del infected file

Reboot your computer.
