Dial-Up Networking Setup for Windows XP

1. Click Start, then click Control Panel

2. Click on Network and Internet Connections

3. Click “Set up or change your Internet connection”

4. Under the Connections tab, click the Setup button

5. Click the Next button

6. Select Connect to the Internet

7. Click the Next button

8. Select “Set up my connection manually”
9. Click the Next button

10. Select “Connect using a dial-up modem”
11. Click the Next button

12. Type in Connect.ie
13. Click the Next button

14. Type in the local access number
15. Click the Next button

16. Select either option, then click the Next button

17. Type in your username and password in the appropriate fields.

18. Check the box that says “Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop
19. Click the Finish button

20. Double click on the newly created Connect.ie icon located on your desktop.
21. Click on the Properties button.

22. Click on the Networking Tab.
23. Click on the Settings button.

24. Uncheck the box labeled “Enable LCP extensions”
25. Click the OK button.
25. Click the OK button.

26. Click the Dial button to connect to the internet.
