How to Change the Text Size in Web Pages

Many Web sites use Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to control the size and colour of text on the screen. To resize the text in your browser, see the instructions for your operating system and browser:

Windows users :

Internet Explorer (version 5 and greater)

1. Go to View menu
2. Select Text size
3. Choose size from smallest to largest


Mozilla Firefox

1. Go to View menu
2. Select Text size
3. Click on Increase, Decrease or Normal


OR

1. Press Ctrl and + to increase size, press Ctrl and - to decrease size, press Ctrl and 0 to return the size to the normal setting


Mac OS users :

Firefox

1. Under the Firefox menu, select Preferences.
2. Click on the Content section (globe icon at top of window).
3. At the bottom of the window, select a new default size from the popup menu.


Safari

1. Under the Safari menu, select Preferences.
2. Click on Appearance section (second icon from the left).
3. Click on Select button to the right of the Standard font field.
4. At the right side of the font window in the size column, you can type in a new size in the form field; or scroll through the list of standard sizes and select one; or use the interactive slider bar on the far right, this will display the font and size interactively in the Appearance window.


Internet Explorer (versions 5.x and greater)

1. Select View
2. Scroll down to Text Zoom and choose your preference
