Mac OS8/iMac Dialer Configuration

Operating System: Macintosh OS8/Imac

Application: Internet Connection Wizard
STEP 1

1. After installing OS8 you should see the Internet Setup Assistant.
(If you don't see it, you'll find it in the Assistants folder on your hard drive).
Double-click the Internet Setup Assistant icon.

1. Click the Update button.

. Click the right arrow here.

. Select 'Add Internet configuration'.
2. Click the right arrow.

. Type in Connect.ie into the name configuration box.
2. Select Modem.
3. Click the right arrow.

. Select your modem from the list.
2. Select the port modem is connected to (usually modem port).
3. Select 'Tone'.
4. Click the right arrow.

. Type in 1891160160,, here
2. Type your username here.
3. Type your password (case sensitive) here.
4. Click the right arrow.

. Select 'No'.
2. Click the right arrow.

. Insert the following address into the DNS Address field: 194.106.128.50
2. Type connect.ie in the Domain Name (bottom) box.
3. Click the right arrow when done.

. Type in username@connect.ie (Make sure there are no spaces here).
2. Type in your password (case sensitive) here.
3. Click the right arrow key.

. Type mail.connect.ie in the top box (POP).
2. Type mail.connect.ie in the bottom box (SMTP).
3. Make sure there are no spaces and click the right arrow.

STEP 12

. Type cnews.newsguy.com in the box.
2. Click the right arrow.

. If you wish to connect now select 'Connect when finished'.
2. Click the Go Ahead button when you are ready.

When Done: Select the Apple Menu
Next Select Control Panels and use Remote Access

Click the Connect button

Once connected you can now run your Browser, Internet application, or Email application.
