This is a favorite office "trick" people play on one another.
Many of you have noticed when you try to move the icons on your desktop that they don't go anywhere!
You drag them from one place to another, but when you let go of the left mouse button, the icons snap right back.
Right click on an empty area on desktop
2. In the pop up list, point to the Arrange icons by command. In the fly out menu you'll see an entry for Auto Arrange and there will be a checkmark next to it.
Click on the Auto Arrange command and that will remove the checkmark.
